On the editorial standard

How each Assembly Constituencyiscompiled.

Every Assembly Factbookis built to the same nine-chapter editorial template, refreshed after each state-assembly election. Where the Constituency Factbookworks at the parliamentary level, the Assembly Factbookworks one tier lower — at the legislative seat, where most of India's governance is in fact conducted.

The figures are drawn exclusively from secondary sources, every table is referenced to its origin and the methodology for any projection is stated on the page. Where official data is silent, the silence is recorded — not papered over.
